Senior Director of Product Management- – Financial Platform & Infrastructure

Role Description

As a Senior Director of Product Management – Financial Platform (“FinPlat”) at Novo, you will lead the development and execution of our core banking infrastructure, including our accounts ledger, FedLine connections for payment and information services, and partner bank integrations. These systems form the critical infrastructure layer that powers Novo’s product ecosystem, enabling scalability, flexibility, and innovation to delight Novo’s SMB customers.

You will play a crucial role in managing the development and evolution of Novo’s financial ledger – with responsibility for ensuring the ledger meets business needs, supports various financial products and services, and can handle large volumes of transactions efficiently and reliably.

Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, you will drive product strategy and execution across Novo’s FinPlat and infrastructure initiatives, partnering closely with engineering, operations, business, compliance, risk, and design to deliver seamless, resilient, and extensible platform experiences.

This role will be instrumental in unlocking new product possibilities that serve Novo’s customers more deeply, intuitively, and cost-effectively. This is a unique opportunity to shape the core architecture of a rapidly scaling fintech platform and help define what “great” looks like for platform product leadership at Novo.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with key cross-functional leaders to understand Novo’s strategic business needs and translate them into specific technical requirements for Novo’s core infrastructure systems, including loan or deposit Ledgers, FBO account structures, and Identity service, amongst other key FinPlat initiatives.
• Develop a roadmap for Novo’s ledger platform and FBO structure, considering future financial product launches, scalability, and speed to market. Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Business, Accounting / Finance, Risk, Compliance, Banking Operations, as well as external bank partners to ensure alignment with product, technical, regulatory, and operational frameworks.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the platform’s performance and usage, and constantly seek ways to improve the platform’s capabilities and functionality.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and thought partner to senior leadership on long-term infrastructure investment decisions.
• Contribute to the product culture at Novo by modeling customer-centricity, excellence, ownership, accountability, and strategic clarity across teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10 years of professional experience in senior product leadership roles.
• Prior financial platform experience and a deep understanding of money movement infrastructure within a fintech, banking-as-a-service, or digital banking environment(s).
• Experience with FBO account structures, sponsor bank partnerships, ledger accounting rules, and regulatory requirements with regard to fintech or banking services.
• Demonstrated experience designing, building, and launching in production ledgers for businesses at scale, with a deep understanding of the technical, accounting, reconciliation, and accounting implications involved with ledgers
• Proven track record of effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management, with experience working closely with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to deliver secure, compliant infrastructure.
• Technical savvy and analytical capabilities are a must, including a strong technical fluency—comfortable engaging in architecture discussions, reviewing API designs, and partnering with engineering on foundational decisions.
• Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complexity with clarity and strong execution.
