NOW CFO – Controller (Construction Focus)
Location: Bend, Oregon | Compensation: $70–$75/hour to start (potential to ramp up to full-time)

NOW CFO is actively seeking a hands-on, operational Controller to join our consulting team and support clients in Bend and the surrounding Central Oregon area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a close-knit, roll-up-your-sleeves work environment and is passionate about helping construction-related businesses stay financially sound and ready for growth.

This role will begin on a part-time basis, with the potential to transition into full-time depending on client demand and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead financial partner for construction and trade-related businesses

• Manage all aspects of accounting: A/P, A/R, G/L, job costing, revenue recognition, and month-end close

• Help businesses implement or improve internal controls and budgeting processes

• Collaborate with owners and stakeholders to improve cash flow, reduce risk, and drive profitability

• Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and state regulations

• Tailor accounting processes to fit each client’s operations and systems

• Support ERP transitions, sales tax filings, and process standardization when needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA a plus)

• CPA preferred but not required

• 5 years of accounting leadership experience, ideally in construction or trades

• Proven experience in cost accounting, job costing, and inventory management

• Strong ERP knowledge and Excel skills

• Experience with excise tax and sales tax is a bonus

• Must be self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple client relationships

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
