Principal Function: The Operations Manager (Indianapolis Branch Manager) is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Indianapolis branch including prioritization of employee and driver resources to meet customer performance expectations and to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversees and coordinates branch operation strategies and activities, encompassing the planning and directing of delivery routes, dispatching drivers, and supervising warehouse activities.
- Establishes, implements, revises, and maintains policies and procedures related to operations.
- Reviews, analyzes, and prepares reports, records, and directives, and confers with managers/supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered.
- Assigns, or delegates responsibility for, specified work or functional activities and disseminates policies and objectives to staff.
- Coordinates resources to facilitate efficient delivery service operations.
- Ensures adequate training of staff and employee compliance to organization's policies and practices.
- Coordinates activities of branch with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy.
- Monitors and analyzes costs, potentially contributing to development of branch's budget.
- Assesses and assists in upgrading staff base within branch to achieve growth and meet customer needs.
