Noya is reversing climate change by removing CO2 from the atmosphere. We’re a scrappy team of engineers, scientists, and operators taking on the biggest problem anybody could be working on. We’ve developed a process that leverages abundant materials to remove CO2 directly from the air with dramatically lower capital and operating expenses than other approaches.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Project Development role is paramount within the team, both in the immediate and long-term context. As a direct report to Noya's CEO, you will embark on an extraordinary journey to establish and lead Noya's Deployments function. This function is pivotal in deploying groundbreaking direct air capture units, forging essential supplier and contractor relationships to realize planetary-scale impact, and much more.
The Head of Project Development is central to the mission of putting Noya's direct air capture technology into the field. You will be responsible for guiding the execution and management of Noya's direct air capture deployment strategy, with a focus on leading recruitment efforts to support ambitious scale-up objectives. Your role extends to spearheading negotiations with landowners, injection well operators, and renewable energy project developers to align all critical resources, bringing Noya's projects to fruition. Your day-to-day activities will encompass crafting high-level, multi-year strategies and executing smaller tasks in pursuit of Noya's objectives.
In addition, this role offers a unique opportunity to engage with one of the most environmentally significant technologies currently under development. We are seeking a curious, first-principles thinker who will overcome challenges to advance Noya's mission of accelerating the world toward carbon negativity.
Key Responsibilities
Secure all necessary contractors and EPCs for the construction of Noya's projects, serving as the primary point of contact for on-site activities.
Lead all initiatives to identify, secure, and prepare locations for Noya's future project installations.
Oversee US-based site selection efforts to align deployment locations for Noya's direct air capture processes.
Lead efforts to assemble and manage operational teams for all projects in the field, including the development of maintenance staffing plans, hiring maintenance personnel, and ensuring projects meet operational targets.
ABOUT YOU
You are a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in operations within hardware-centric or industrial-centric companies.
Your career is marked by expertise in either deploying pioneering projects or crafting deployment strategies for existing technologies, demonstrating your adaptability and innovation.
You possess a track record of negotiating and establishing long-term infrastructure project partnerships, seamlessly managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including landowners and renewable power developers.
You are a proficient leader, and people manager, having successfully built and guided high-performing teams to achieve organizational objectives.
Your skill set includes sourcing and overseeing contractors and installation partners, confirming your strategic capabilities in resource management.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are your forte, allowing you to effectively convey complex ideas and plans.
You have a willingness to travel, with the flexibility to accommodate up to 25% of your time for ensuring the successful deployment of Noya's projects.
