What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder 2nd Shift position at NPK Construction Equipment?
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Weld Shop Supervisor, the welder is responsible to operate and maintain welding tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Layout, position, align and fit components into welding fixture as instructed.
- Set-up gas-shield mig-welder and weld parts to job specifications.
- Use basic understanding of blueprints and welding symbols to complete job assignment.
- Use hand tools, clamps, and grinders to perform job tasks.
- Complete basic maintenance on welding equipment.
- Other duties as needed and assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education Required:
- 1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2. One (1) year of related experience and/or training.
- 3. Good mathematical skills and ability to read tape measure and blueprints
- 4. Must have demonstrated skill level of wire feed (M.I.G.) welding.
- 5. Able to use an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch.
- 6. Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions.
- 7. Able to work any shift
- 8. Good work ethic
- 9. Willing to learn and take direction.
