POSITION SUMMARY
NRD, LLC seeks an R&D Technician to assist in our multidisciplinary Research & Development department team with developing new products, procedures and devices. This role is responsible for performing tests, analyzing the results and documenting findings to the team. The R&D Technician will collaborate closely with engineers, scientists and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting to support our product development initiatives.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, enjoys hands-on work and demonstrate strong time management skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Fabricate, test and assemble innovative new products
- Assist in assembling prototypes and test fixtures
- Use test equipment to obtain results and perform maintenance and calibrations as directed
- Collect, document and communicate the records and data for the experiments, tests and trials
- Help design process flows, recommend new processes and drive continuous process improvement
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing and other departments as needed
- Ensure safe operation and handling of chemicals and tools
- Follow nuclear and chemical health and safety protocols
- Ensure clean and safe work environment before and after each task
- Support design of experiments (DOE) execution and data management activities
- Other duties as assigned
Due to contractual requirements and/or security clearance regulations associated with this position, candidates must be U.S. citizens. Proof of citizenship will be required
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Must be a US Citizen (contractual requirement).
- Associates degree or certificate in a technical or scientific field.
- 1-year technical experience
- Proven oral and written communication and proofreading skills required.
- Must be detail orientated
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong hands on and sense of ownership attitude
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow SOPs and guidelines
- Ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures.
- Ability to collaborate with other departments effectively
- Candidate with proven time management skills is strongly preferred.
Work Environment
- Work environment is consistent with that of a research and development laboratory and office. Requires wearing PPE. May involve working with hazardous and/or nuclear materials.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Citizenship Requirement
This position is restricted to U.S. citizens in compliance with federal regulations and contractual requirements. Candidates must be able to provide proof of citizenship and may be required to obtain a security clearance.
Salary Range
$25-$35 P/H, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
Final compensation will be determined by experience, skills, and overall alignment with the role.
