Infusion Nurse - NuCara Pharmacy & Infusion Center
Location: NuCara Pharmacy & Infusion Center
Job Type: Part-time, PRN, or Full-time
Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday (flexible 1-2 days/week minimum for part-time)
Setting: Outpatient / Ambulatory Infusion Clinic
NuCara Pharmacy & Infusion Center is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Infusion Nurse (RN) to join our collaborative clinical team. This role involves direct patient care, patient education, and close coordination with pharmacists and providers. Candidates must be highly efficient with peripheral IV starts and blood draws, with a strong commitment to delivering safe and exceptional infusion therapy.
You will work with a variety of specialty infusion medications and support patient education, care planning, and ongoing clinical assessment in a fast-paced but supportive environment. Full-time or part-time schedules are available, with preference for consistent availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients receiving infusion therapy in the ambulatory infusion suite and occasionally in the home
- Start and maintain IV access, including peripheral lines and implanted ports
- Administer specialty medications including biologics, antibodies, antibiotics, and iron products
- Administer intramuscular (IM) injections as ordered
- Perform venipuncture and phlebotomy for lab draws as ordered
- Educate patients and caregivers on infusion therapy, IV equipment, access site care, and medication administration
- Occasionally discontinue peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines) per provider order and protocol
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately and thoroughly
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, medication delivery, and scheduling
- Monitor patient progress and communicate any concerns to providers or the supervising pharmacist
- Adhere to OSHA guidelines and infection control protocols when handling biohazardous materials
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain clinical competencies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience
- Strong proficiency in IV therapy, access maintenance, and blood draws
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in Nursing
- Infusion certification (e.g., CRNI) or other related credential
- BLS Certification
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (e.g., supply totes) and perform physical tasks such as bending for patient procedures
- Frequent computer use for charting and documentation
- Ability to use latex or non-latex supplies as appropriate
