Basic Job Functions:

• Develop and maintain relationships with transportation companies and shipping point contacts to streamline the movement of goods in the most cost-effective manner
• Order Entry, Shipment scheduling and proactive communication to the delivery points (steel mills)
• Freight rate administration and data entry
• Answering a high-volume phone queue to be the front line for incoming inquiries for potential new partners
• Facilitate management of LTL and parcel shipments as needed
• Carrier scorecard review and assessment of various key performance indicators for all vendor partners
• Maintain documentation, change control records and any agreements pertaining to business system and software
• Transaction analysis and problem resolution. Includes reviewing reports as well as phone and email communication to commercial, shipping and vendor partners
• Work on projects and performs other duties as assigned

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in with a concentration in Business or Supply Chain or 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills including transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to effectively communicate to various audience groups both inside and outside of the company
• Willingness to travel to US based locations on an as-needed basis to support business needs and project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Communications field with a concentration in Business or Supply Chain
• Prior experience in the steel manufacturing, parts manufacturing, or scrap metal industry
• Prior experience with web-based Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or shipment tracking software
• Familiar with Nucor products and facilities
