Accountant I

Basic Job Functions:

The role of Accountant is to maintain the operational data used to report financial results, including the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, preparation of account reconciliations and various general ledger entries. This role may perform activities include assisting with GAAP accounting and financial reporting, compliance, cost accounting, cost control analysis, inventory reconciliation and roll-forward, tax responsibilities, accounts receivable/credit, accounts payable, sharing results across the division as needed, assisting with other financial or administrative transactions and general office duties. Responsibilities will include cross-training with other Finance Department personnel and coordinating and collaborating across the plant, product group and across Nucor. Occasional travel to other locations may be required along with overtime as needed to meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Prior Accounting/Bookkeeping experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years experience of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
• MBA, CPA or CMA
