The Role
The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient operation of all facility and production equipment. This position involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and schedule PM tasks per system requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production and facility equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment, plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical systems.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure functionality and cleanliness.
- Perform routine building maintenance (e.g., windows, doors, walls).
- Maintain and review logs, work orders, PM records, and breakdown reports.
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.
- Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
- Suggest improvements to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Communicate effectively with Maintenance Manager and operations teams to minimize downtime.
- Maintain inventory; order and track parts for repairs or projects.
- Complete accurate documentation for all work performed.
- Assist with equipment startups and basic utility system checks (boilers, cooling towers, ventilation).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver's license; must be at least 18 years old.
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Proficient with tools, testing devices, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (occasionally up to 75 lbs.), and to stand, walk, bend, and work in various conditions
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office 365.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical degree or certification in a related field.
- Maintenance experience
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
- Experience with carpentry, plumbing, and basic HVAC systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
