Security Operations Center Analyst I

The Role
The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst I role serves within a vertical-specific NuHarbor Security Managed Services Analyst team. The SOC Analyst I reports directly to their business vertical-specific Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring that client environments are monitored for security incidents and responding to incidents and escalating notable events to clients and/or internal crew members.
What you'll do
Bachelor's Degree preferred or four (4) years of experience.

- Monitors security alerts, events, and trends on behalf of clients.
- Conducts investigations of suspicious activities and provides actionable alerts to clients.
- Performs tuning of security related data to improve accuracy.
- Provides analysis and interpretation of vulnerability scans and assessments.
- Monitors client access rules for discrepancies and potential gaps.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or four (4) years of experience.
- We are always open to proven success and experience in lieu of a degree: four (4) years in the Technology field or relevant industry certifications.
- Typical Degrees: Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field(s).
- Demonstrated experience with SIEM solutions.
- Knowledge of incident response concepts and procedures.
- Current knowledge of security terminology.
- Ability to explain simple hardening methods for network and process detections.
- Familiarity with common endpoint concepts.
- Understanding of common network services and attacks against them.
