The Opportunity:
Nurture Source is looking for their next Assistant Project Manager Manager to join their team in person in their Berkeley office. This is a hands-on, fast-paced opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction project management. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with Project Managers, vendors, designers, and internal teams to keep projects moving smoothly from planning through execution. You’ll gain direct exposure to real project operations, permitting, inspections, and field coordination—making this an ideal role for someone eager to learn, contribute, and grow.
You will play a critical support role in ensuring job sites are prepared, documentation is accurate, vendors are aligned, and Project Managers are set up for success. Your work will directly impact project timelines, quality, and client satisfaction.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in being a key part of a growing construction business.

Responsibilities:
Project & Vendor Coordination:
- Schedule job walks with vendors and subcontractors.
- Meet vendors on site when the Project Manager is unavailable to ensure continuity and progress.
- Communicate proactively with vendors to confirm they have the correct plans, specifications, and materials prior to site work.
- Print and distribute design specifications and drawings for on-site crews as needed.
- Coordinate urgent material pick-ups and deliveries to job sites or the warehouse when required.
- Schedule drop-off and pick-up of chemical toilets, fencing, and other site support services.
- Support miscellaneous operational tasks as requested by Project Managers or other departments.
Permitting & Compliance Support:
- Prepare Permit Declarations and all required permit submission paperwork accurately and on time.
- Schedule required inspections and coordinate appropriate attendees
- Maintain and regularly update the internal permit tracking document and create, own, and maintain a permitting calendar with deadlines and deliverables and ensure communication to all stakeholders (PM’s, CTO, Dir of Operations, etc.)
- Manage all communication with external architects/expediters and internal teams to keep Project Managers informed of permit status and changes.
- Work with CTO to drive completion of permitting and update Permit tracking sheet,
- Attend Permit Status meetings and update team and documents weekly
- Assemble permit and specification binders for approved projects and deliver to Project Managers or job sites.
- Print and deliver plans, drawings, and updated documentation as requested.
- Maintain Green Halo documentation and updates in accordance with project requirements.
Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate operational processes, systems, and workflows across the organization.
- Identify and implement improvements that increase efficiency, clarity, scalability, and cross-functional alignment.

- Site Visits: Regularly visit project sites to oversee progress, inspect work, and ensure adherence to plans. Requires walking, standing, occasionally handling physical materials or equipment, and occasional climbing of stairs or ladders.
- Meetings and Communication: Attend meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project teams. Involves sitting, standing, and walking between different locations within an office or project site.
- Safety Oversight: Ensure safety protocols are followed by physically inspecting work areas, equipment, and practices to identify hazards and enforce safety measures.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document project progress, issues, and decisions. Involves typing, writing, and organizing documentation over extended periods.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 2 years experience in Construction Operations or similar role
- Experience with knowledge of construction project operational processes, permitting, vendors, etc.
- Excellent communication, verbal and written
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Proficient in creating, maintaining, and organizing Google docs (especially sheets)
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions quickly

Compensation Benefits
- Annual salary range: $65,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- 1 week of paid vacation per year
- 7 paid holidays per year
