Job Title: Kitchen Prep for School Meals

In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing ingredients, assembling meals, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily meal production, including washing, chopping, and portioning.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality in meal preparation.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to assemble meals according to menu requirements and dietary guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure the safety of all meals prepared.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and restocking supplies as needed.
• Participate in training sessions to learn new recipes, cooking techniques, and safety procedures.
• Support other kitchen staff in all tasks as assigned, including food service and cleanup duties.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety principles and practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to work early morning hours and occasional weekends as needed.

Job Preferences:

• Has a valid AZ driver’s license, as well as maintaining a clean driving record.
• Has or will obtain DPS-issued, Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Willing & able to serve meals to schools after kitchen prep is over.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Perform routine physical activities including standing longer than 6 hours, walking, squatting, lift 50 pounds, exposure to extreme heat and/or cold, operate and use food service equipment; drive company vehicle to fulfill job duties, when applicable.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's & customer’s facilities.
• Can withstand environment and maintain focus with a high noise level and considerable sensory stimulation.
  
  

Job Preferences:

• 1-year prior customer service experience
• Bi-lingual Spanish speaker
  
  

Salary Range:

FLSA Classification – Non-exempt

$17.50-$19.00 per hour.

Full or Part-Time position: Hours greatly decrease during summer, Spring, Fall & Winter breaks.
