NuvouLegal is currently partnering with a respected Virginia-based law firm to find a Complex Litigation Associate Attorney with 2–6 years of experience. About the Role
This position offers hands-on experience in all phases of litigation, including trial preparation, strategy development, and courtroom advocacy. You’ll work closely with experienced attorneys on complex civil matters involving commercial, construction, maritime, and transportation disputes.
The firm requires a full-time, in-office presence in Norfolk, VA. Relocation support may be available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis on sophisticated litigation matters
- Draft motions, pleadings, memoranda, and other legal documents
- Assist in all aspects of trial preparation including organizing exhibits and prepping witnesses
- Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and court proceedings
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to case strategy
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Virginia state and federal court procedures
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active member of the Virginia Bar in good standing
- 2–6 years of experience in complex civil litigation
- Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines
- Experience in construction, maritime, or railroad litigation is a plus (not required)
