What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Psychologist - Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service position at NYU Langone Health System?
We are seeking a full-time clinical psychologist to join our Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service at our One Park Ave location. The Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service includes specialty programs in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A), Tics, Tourette's, and Trichotillomania (T3 program), and intensive treatments for anxiety disorders. This role requires proficiency in cognitive-behavioral therapy, parent management training, and diagnostic evaluation of anxiety, mood, and related disorders. The position carries an academic appointment within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which is one of only two independent child and adolescent psychiatry departments within an academic medical center in the nation. Ideal candidates are energetic clinicians with a commitment to clinical and academic excellence and an aptitude and enthusiasm for outpatient practice.
The ideal candidate would be able to contribute specifically to the continued growth of the Adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program and be willing to lead group treatments. The Adolescent DBT Program is a comprehensive program that offers individual therapy, phone coaching, Multi-Family Skills Group, and weekly DBT Consultation Team meetings. Ideal candidates for this position would have experience providing DBT-A in an outpatient setting with a passion for the training and supervision of social work and psychology trainees learning to implement all four components of the treatment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluating of new patients with in-person and written feedback in a timely manner
- Providing evidence-based psychotherapeutic treatments to children, adolescents and their families in individual, parent training, family, and group modalities
- Providing consultation to schools and other community institutions
- Contributing and/or leading collaborations focused on improving care for children with anxiety and mood disorders
- Supervising and teaching of trainees across disciplines
- Providing outreach to the professional and lay community (e.g., workshops and webinars)
- Participating in continuing education such as weekly Case Conference and Grand Rounds
Minimum Annual Salary:$97,219
Maximum Annual Salary:$116,501
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited institution
- Completion of APA or CPA accredited pre-doctoral internship
- Licensed or license eligible in the State of New York
