The Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for leadership and oversight of all aspects of sanitation, food safety, and related compliance within the winery operations. This role ensures the effective implementation of sanitation processes, adherence to company policies, and compliance with BRC regulatory standards or equivalent GFSI frameworks. Key responsibilities include managing sanitation schedules, validating cleaning processes, tracking inventory, and maintaining accurate documentation. The Food Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in developing and delivering training programs, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to foster collaboration in a fast-paced environment while upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Provide leadership and oversight for team operations, including scheduling, development, and adherence to company policies and standards.
- Track / trend cleaning and sanitation of winery equipment, including daily sanitization, weekly validations, and water usage metrics.
- Manage and update the tank boards ensuring the dirty tanks are in the queue for the sanitation process
- Ensure the sanitation team adheres to SOPs and conducts weekly validations using ATP swabs
- Conduct monthly inventory and order supplies to maintain necessary stock levels
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with operational goals.
- Support the O'Neill auditing team with monthly housekeeping audits and processing audits
- Monitor audit deficiencies and track corrective actions from routine internal audits.
- Assist in developing and maintaining training modules and matrices for monthly GMP training
- Lead Food Safety training for all employees, including seasonal workers during harvest
- Collaborate to develop, update, and maintain BRC documentation on an annual basis
- Oversee sanitation trials, evaluate results, and recommend new methods or improvements
- Verify completion of sanitation records
- Assist with validating and reviewing monthly BRC documentation and paperwork
- Supervise and validate the execution of sanitation tasks by the sanitation team
- Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Foster a positive and professional work environment by promoting accountability, collaboration, and adherence to company standards.
- Coach, mentor, and support team development to enhance performance and teamwork
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all team activities
