Position Summary:
The Resident Services Assistant plays a vital role in coordinating the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position collaborates with nursing, social services, and other departments to maintain the highest standard of care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges of residents.
- Collect and process necessary documentation for admissions and reviews with residents and families.
- Provide information on community resources and assist in referrals.
- Support discharge planning and provide emotional support to residents and families.
- Prepare reports for administration and committees, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Participate in resident care conferences and maintain professional performance standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or community setting (long-term care experience is a plus).
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
