GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
Develop youth program of Oak Harbor First United Methodist Church. This is a part-time position.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with youth ministries programs (Grades 7-12).
- Understand and support the mission of Oak Harbor First United Methodist Church (OHFUMC) .
- Satisfactory completion of a background check and Safe Church dictated training.
- Strong spiritual journey and willing to share/guide others on their Christian faith journey.
YOUTH MINISTRIES POSITION DUTIES
- Build, enlarge and grow our youth program.
- Plan and lead youth group gatherings.
- Recruit, train and supervise volunteers.
- Maintain the youth ministry budget.
- Yearly confirmation program.
- Involve youth in worship, church committees, and activities of the overall congregation.
- Coordinate fund-raising activities.
- Communicate youth events (to include maintaining social media presence).
- Community involvement to grow youth program.
- Primary driver for the church van for youth events.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to form strong, appropriate relationships with youth while maintaining boundaries and discipline.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills; written reports, documents, record keeping, social media.
- Ability to plan, implement and promote programmatic and outreach events.
- Comfortable in multiple computer applications.
- Driver’s license with clean driving record.
