Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Aide/Technician to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a healthcare setting and assist in providing quality care to patients undergoing physical therapy treatments. This position works directly under the supervision of our two licensed Physical Therapists.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in providing treatment to patients in an outpatient clinic setting
- Aid patients with exercises as instructed by the therapist
- Set up therapy equipment and ensure its proper functioning
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the therapy area
- Assist with documenting patient progress and interactions during therapy sessions
-Collaborate with the therapy team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Demonstrate competency in accordance with facility policy, procedures and practices
-Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of clinic equipment
Skills:
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a healthcare team
- Needs good motor coordination to handle patients and equipment safely
- Able to function in repetitive and/or changing tasks with ease
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients
- Able to work and reason logically, impartially and accurately
- Able to accept and utilize advice and constructive criticism
- Openness and willingness to modify work style in order to meet patient and clinic needs
- Willingness to assume more responsibility if/when needed
Experience:
- Familiarity with physical fitness preferred
- Experience or interest in working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics
- Previous work in clinic, hospital, or occupational health settings is advantageous
- Understanding of or willingness and ability to understand outpatient rehabilitation procedures
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or GED; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered
- Graduation from a technical program preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support certification required through the American Heart Association or other pre-approved accredited certification program.
