Payroll Manager (Temp-to-Perm)

Work Model: Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Hourly rate: $50
We are supporting a manufacturing organization in Columbia (SC) with the search for a Payroll Manager to join on an ongoing contract with the intent to convert to permanent.
The business has approximately 400 employees, all on variable compensation structures, including high-variable sales incentives and annual bonus plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end management of bi-weekly payroll for ~400 employees and processing for approximately 70 hourly employees (paid in arrears)
- Administration of complex sales incentives, commissions, and bonus plans
- Oversight of payroll compliance, controls, and audit readiness
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to improve customer service and responsiveness
- Resolve issues related to missed pay increases, SIP earnings, and commission calculations
- Extract, review, and reconcile payroll data from ADP Payroll Services
- Support payroll data integration into downstream systems where data does not translate cleanly
- Assist with GL reconciliation and payroll reporting
- Support setup and governance of company credit cards, travel & expense processes
- Work with Concur and Wells Fargo for expense and payment workflows
- Maintain backup processes, including manual checks for payroll and reimbursements when required

Role requirements:
- Proven Payroll Manager experience in a complex, variable-paying environment
- Strong understanding of sales incentives, commissions, and bonus structures
- Hands-on ADP payroll experience
- Comfortable working in evolving, imperfect system environments
- Detail-oriented, service-driven, and proactive rather than reactive
- Manufacturing or similarly structured industry experience preferred
