Credit Card Specialist

Job Summary: Process plastic card applications for approval; provide service and resolution on all plastic card product inquiries; and develop goals and processes for card programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Act as point of contact for all matters involving the third party card processor.
• Manage project tickets. Lead activity between CU staff and card processor.
• Review and make decisions regarding user requests for all card processor applications.
• Communicate directly with members and staff.
• Analyze claims and decide on which to open cases with the card processor.
• Determine if denied claims qualify for write off under CU policy.
• Order new and deactivate aged gift cards. Manage users on gift card system.
• Train staff on card processes and procedures.
• Card ordering instructions are maintained and communicated. Make final decisions regarding early replacement and waiver of fees.
• Card closure instructions are maintained.
• Month end close responsibilities.
• Determine and complete fraud write offs.
• Review and approve Credit Card vendor invoices.
• Balance general ledger accounts related to Credit Card activity.
• Accounting and Reporting.
• Manage loan participation analysis and reporting.
• Complete daily general ledger entries for card activity.
• All other duties assigned.

Job Requirements:

• 1 – 3 years of experience in a plastic's card financial environment, preferably in a lead or supervisory role.
• Exemplary follow through.
• Superb customer service techniques including a proficient command of the English language both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of plastic product rules and regulations.
• Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel.
