What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Sales Manager - Based in Boston position at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club?
Beautiful Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club on Cape Cod is seeking an exceptional individual who can identify, cultivate, and generate room, food & beverage, and ancillary revenues for the hotel derived through group bookings as a Sales Manager.
The ideal candidate will possess the talents to:
-Penetrate and maintain specified local, domestic or international markets
-Develop and implement strategic plans and actions to achieve hotel room and catering revenue goals
-Ensure customer satisfaction
-Strive to increase and re-direct market share from competitor properties
-Effectively communicate with Vice President of Sales to review opportunities that impact revenue goals.
-Conduct site inspections each week including appropriate hotel entertainment of clients. -Actively cross sell conference, catering and restaurant facilities when dealing with prospective and existing clients
-Assist Sales Team in achieving monthly room, rate and revenue team goals
- Travel to the Resort a minimum of once per week for meetings and site visits
Priority will be given to candidates with the following background and skills:
-Minimum of 3-5 years of Group Sales experience with a knowledge of the local Massachusetts and North East market preferred.
-Strong negotiation, written, oral and presentation skills
-Proven track record in soliciting, penetrating and developing unique market segments
-Ability to exceed personal revenue goals
-Extensive client solicitation required for business opportunities and market development
-Ability to travel for sales calls, feeder market sales trips including representation at local or national trade shows.
-Ability to create customized proposals using Word, Excel, Delphi or other related technology programs.
