Head of West Coast Regional Sales / Public Safety, Commercial, Dive Shop & Military

Location : Santa Ana, CA

Pay Range : $90,000.00 / yr - $140,000.00 / yr (based on skills and experience)

Compensation : Commission

Job Purpose : The purpose of this job is to GROW SALES in your assigned territories including existing customers and prospective customers thereby ensuring that Ocean Technology Systems meets our growth targets.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Create and implement a sales strategy that aligns personal goals / objectives with company growth goals.
  • Handle telephone calls / emails in a professional and timely manner (within 1 business day).
  • Serve as the product expert for OTS products.
  • Hunt for new business and grow territories in accordance with sales goals.
  • Communicate with current and potential customers regularly, providing solutions as needed.
  • Travel to customer locations to present company products, services, and pricing information professionally.
  • Submit appropriate paperwork to management such as expense reports and trip reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with all established Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Attend weekly sales meetings / conference calls / 1 : 1 meetings with manager.
  • Call on all open quotes monthly and document updates and next steps.
  • Maintain a sales pipeline in alignment with close ratio to maintain sales quota.
  • Collect and report competitive information to management.
  • Attend key training activities and exhibit at trade shows relevant to each market.
  • Adhere to all company procedures, policies, and core values.
  • Perform job duties efficiently to reduce costs and maximize profits.
  • Develop and submit annual travel plan to sales manager including key customer visits, demonstration days, trade shows, seminars, etc.
  • Prepare quotes, contracts, and RFP / RFI responses for clients and prospects with accurate OTS product configurations.
  • Maintain accurate records in Syteline and other relevant databases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge and Abilities :

  • Willingness to travel extensively (50%-70% of the time).
  • Ability to plan and organize projects independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent, one to three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • SCUBA Certification not required but recommended.
  • Physical Demands :

  • Must be comfortable around / in water and being on a boat.
  • Must be able to swim and stand in water.
  • Continually required to lift equipment up to 70lbs.
  • Must be okay in various environments including high humidity and cold weather.
