Job Title: Import Agent
Department: Pharmaceuticals
Reports to: Pharmaceuticals Manager
Salary Range: $ 24 to 28

OCEANAIR is currently seeking an Import agent in our Pharmaceuticals Division. Our Import Agent will work efficiently in a team environment to process and secure shipments. Support all sales efforts and quotes as assigned by department manager or supervisor. Complete all departmental activities as needed.
**Schedule for this position may require weekends on a departmental rotation basis.
This position may require working a holiday schedule based on the needs of the operation and requirements of the account.
Job Qualifications
- 1-year hands-on experience in forwarding, logistics or distribution operations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of geography to assist with the day-to-day movement of freight around the world.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong numerical skills are required.
- High attention to detail and sense of urgency.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the movement of goods from another country, ensuring the transit and delivery is made on time. This means liaising regularly with overseas offices, partners or agents and involves all modes of transportation.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is complete and acceptable for entry to Customs.
- Responsible for ensuring any payments due are made in advance of any shipment as required, processing all payments and necessary paperwork for accounting purposes according to company requirements.
- May be required to check goods in as they arrive against paperwork to ensure shipments are in good order and accounted for.
- Check manifests, invoices and orders to ensure they are recorded accurately for incoming shipments.
- May be required to arrange the release and transportation of goods received to importer or deliver to party.
- Promote a positive relationship with the client by ensuring excellent, timely and proactive customer service.
- Process data through the company’s system.
- Request information from client, and other correspondence.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve all areas of client concern in a timely and proactive manner. Alert clients to special areas of concern or potential problems.
- Notification of exceptions to planned events in a timely manner to manager, customers, agents and sales staff as appropriate.
