Muay Thai Coach – Youth & Adult Programs
Location: Oceanside Athletic Club (Oceanside, CA)
Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time
Overview:
Oceanside Athletic Club (OAC) is a martial arts and fitness gym committed to empowering our community through Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, Tumbling, and Acrobatics. We’re looking for an experienced, high-energy Muay Thai Coach to lead both youth and adult classes. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about martial arts, fitness, and building strong relationships on and off the mats.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Classes: Instruct high-quality, engaging Muay Thai classes for all levels—beginner to advanced—for both youth and adults.
- Build Curriculum: Use OAC’s training framework to deliver progressive and structured class plans that develop skill, fitness, and understanding of Muay Thai.
- Teach Technique: Demonstrate and coach proper stance, footwork, striking, clinch, and defense with attention to individual growth and safety.
- Incorporate Conditioning: Blend Muay Thai drills with functional strength, cardio, and agility work.
- Foster Community: Create an inclusive, motivating class environment that supports progress, discipline, and respect.
- Coach Individually: Provide personalized feedback to help students build confidence and advance at their own pace.
- Prioritize Safety: Ensure proper form and movement at all times to minimize injury risk.
- Collaborate: Work with other coaches and staff to align on programming, member needs, and gym events.
- Stay Current: Stay informed on Muay Thai and coaching best practices to continually improve your classes.
What You Bring:
- 3–5 years of Muay Thai coaching experience (youth and/or adults)
- Strong understanding of Muay Thai technique, training methods, and class structure
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)
- Passionate, professional, and dedicated to helping students improve
