What are the responsibilities and job description for the Typing Level 1 Part Time Instructor position at ODESSA COLLEGE?
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position will serve as a part time instructor in the Continuing Education department at Odessa College in the Gregory D. Williams Hall. The Typing Instructor will instruct students the basics of how to use a computer keyboard to type using home rows keys. Successful completion will result in a certification for the student. Teaching sessions will be 2 or 4 hour sessions until syllabus is completed.
SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES
- Conduct in person Typing training sessions, as needed to meet demands.
- Flexible schedule and hours.
- Instruct and assist students in understanding Typing techniques.
- Provide support and guidance to students as they progress in their Typing skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to perform work in a classroom and office setting
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Use of manual dexterity
- Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Standard classroom environment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- High School Diploma or GED
WORK HOURS
This position is part-time with max of 19 hours per week. Classes/sessions are contingent on the minimum number of students enrolled. If minimum is not met, the class is subject to cancelation.
