The Commercial Finance Analyst plays a critical role in the management of financial and commercial matters of the business. While responsible for interpretation and analysis of past results, the successful candidate will play an equally critical role in new business growth by evaluating pricing and reviewing commercial contracts to ensure an appropriate balance of risk and reward. In addition the Commercial Finance Analyst will play a key role in financial acumen of operations, annual budgeting and monthly financial review and analysis. This position has daily interaction with operational locations, ad hoc customer interaction, and engagement with all functional departments to provide commercial and financial support to the business.
Job Description:

- Supports and aligns financial forecasts and long range planning processes with business leaders. Drives business value by providing financial and analytical counsel to facilitate decision making.
- Prepares monthly financial reporting including variance and financial statement analysis. Able to clearly communicate a cohesive and concise story around business drivers behind financial data and potential implications on future results.
- Performs customer and contract profitability analysis and assists in making investment and pricing decisions.
- Improves financial results by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending action to management.
- Review of Requests for Proposals and new business opportunities to assist in proposal preparation/response and contractual assessments.
- Provide guidance on the negotiating strategy to the account team; including the manner in which the contract effects daily operations and the risk v. reward profile; participate in, where appropriate, negotiations with customer.
- Prepares financial evaluations of new contracts to ensure key financial hurdles are met and financial risks are clearly understood and considered.
- Participates in review of significant non-customer contracts and real estate leases to ensure financial terms are aligned with underlying customer contracts.
- Increase commercial knowledge and awareness throughout the business by continuing education and training.
- Serves as an objective financial steward with an enterprise perspective, safeguarding the company’s assets.

Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics (required).
- 0 - 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or relatable field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in building annual financial plans and delivering ongoing analysis and interpretation of financial results and forecasts (required).
- Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Windows based accounting software - Great Plains (preferred).
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be comfortable working in a complex environment.
- General understanding of evaluating long term capital investments and commercial contracts, pricing and risk (preferred).
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Moderate overtime and occasional weekend work required throughout the year.
- General office working conditions.
- Requires the ability to frequently sit and use hands in a repetitive motion on a computer.
