Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Cisco Security Engineer to implement and support advanced Cisco security solutions for our clients. This role involves hands-on design, configuration, and migration of security systems, with a focus on Cisco’s security technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to ensure secure, effective, and scalable implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and deploy Cisco security solutions including Secure Firewall, Defense Orchestrator, Duo, and the Breach Protection Security Suite.
- Lead project planning activities, including kickoff meetings and ongoing status updates with clients.
- Develop detailed network architecture diagrams and security implementation plans.
- Migrate clients from legacy security systems to modern Cisco-based architectures.
- Configure advanced security features, policies, interfaces, and zones.
- Test, validate, and troubleshoot deployed security solutions.
- Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and detailed documentation to customer teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing support for client network infrastructures, with an emphasis on security systems.
- Conduct security assessments, apply patches, and recommend improvements.
- Respond to security incidents and escalations in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving cybersecurity threats and Cisco technologies.
- Contribute to internal documentation and the team knowledge base.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency security incidents (approximately one week every 6–8 weeks).
- Occasional travel (up to 20%) and after-hours work for planned implementations or maintenance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network security engineering, with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security.
- Cisco Certified Specialist – Security Core.
- At least one of the following specialty certifications:
- Cisco Certified Specialist – Firewall
- Cisco Certified Specialist – Identity Management
- Deep expertise in Cisco Secure Firewall platforms and Threat Defense.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Defense Orchestrator.
- Proficiency in multi-factor authentication, particularly Cisco Duo.
- Familiarity with the Cisco Breach Protection Security Suite.
- Advanced understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, VPN, NAT).
- Solid troubleshooting skills, including packet-level analysis.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is preferred.
