Polisher
The Metal Finisher, under the direction of the Production Manager, will provide first class metal finishing to die sections and die casting tools, prior to PVD treatment according to the Oerlikon Balzers standards. This position will have significant responsibility for ensuring the overall quality control of production services provided for Forming Tools through rigorous quality checks pre and post treatment. The Metal Finisher will perform special projects as directed.

Your Responsibilities
Responsible for metal finishing /polishing of stamping forming die steels and die casting tools;- Performs metallurgical checks of tooling including Spectro, hardness checks, and heat treatment determination of tools;
- Completes quality control documentation for customers as required;
- Maintains the measurement devices;
- Provides additional support to the Production Manager and customers as required.
Your Profile
Post-Secondary education in Tool & Die making / and or Mold making or equivalent is preferred;- 1 to 2 years’ experience preferred die making or metal finishing from a stamping, die cast or plastic injection mold;
- Proficiency working with various polishing methods and tools, including abrasive wheels, diamond paste compounds and processes to achieve a mirror surface prior to coating;
- Previous quality control experience is desired as well as experience working with metallurgical quality systems;
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers and dial indicators.
- Proficiency with MS Office;
- Must follow safe working practices which includes wearing all require PPEs including respirators and hearing protection for long periods of time;
- Must have a strong work ethic and be a results-driven team-player with a strong attention to detail.
