Description
Position SummaryReporting to Production Supervisor, the lift truck operator will operate the sit-down forklifts to load and unload material, product, bins and pallets. This position will move needed items from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities. The LTO should be able to act proactively to ensure smooth and effective operations and report issues to management immediately.
The ideal candidate will have 6-12 months experience operating a lift truck, basic mathematical aptitude and be accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the lift truck.
Position Responsibilities
• Perform daily forklift checks on assigned forklift(s).
• Locate, pull and transport full or empty bins, pallets of finished product, packaging supplies, and/or equipment to specified areas.
• Efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate areas.
• Maintain and update records of inventory and activity logs.
• Load trailer & containers making sure the wight distribution is correct.
• Maintain and update records of inventory and activity logs.
• Shrink wrap pallets to prepare them for shipping.
• Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
• Operate handheld scanner to ensure accurate recordkeeping
• Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
