A San Francisco based Long/short hedge fund is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join as a Research Analyst. The analyst will be responsible for evaluating primarily U.S. equities through research, due diligence and financial modeling. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter capable of completing a variety of ad hoc research requests on a wide range of topics.
Role Description
- Review financial reports, public filings, and other sources to distill large amounts of data into insightful and actionable investment ideas
- Cover multiple industries, monitor existing holdings and recommend new securities
- Build multi-year financial models
- Apply analytical skills to identify patterns and trends to generate insights into the market and assist the team in making informed investment decisions
- Schedule, organize and hold meetings with management team and attend industry conferences
- Prepare marketing materials for clients
Qualifications
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Fluency in accounting and financial statement analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage and visualize data
- Strong analytical skills across both quantitative and qualitative dimensions
- Passion for investing
Education & Experience
- Undergraduate degree
- 2 years experience in relevant field is strongly preferred
