Job Summary And Qualifications
As a Recreational/Activity Therapist in Behavioral Health at our facility you will be joining a team that has a passion for creating positive patient interactions and a dedication to caring for the multi-faceted wellness of those we serve. In this role:
Affiliated with our hospital is Pleasant View Emergency Center. This fully equipped, freestanding facility features board-certified physicians. Our nurses and technicians are specially trained in emergency medical care and available on a 24/7 basis.
Located 10 miles north of our main hospital, PVER features 10 plus treatment rooms, comprehensive imaging technology and a medical laboratory onsite, which help to ensure accurate and prompt care.
Ogden Regional Medical Center and Pleasant View Emergency Center sit at the heart of the Wasatch Mountain range. The area has abundant outdoor recreation including hiking, biking, rock climbing, watersports and three ski resorts within a half-hour drive; Ogden offers the lure of outdoor living and the culture of city life.

Job Summary And Qualifications
As a Recreational/Activity Therapist in Behavioral Health at our facility you will be joining a team that has a passion for creating positive patient interactions and a dedication to caring for the multi-faceted wellness of those we serve. In this role:
- You will develop and implement activities for patients to help foster self-awareness, increase social skills, and promote healthy creativity to effectively reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, and manage behaviors.
- You will be responsible for assessing patient needs and completing patient assessments.
- You will plan and implement regular groups to meet the needs of patients.
- You will evaluate and document treatment goals and outcomes related to groups and patient involvement.
- You will review assessments and other activities performed by technicians and assist in the supervision and mentoring of Recreational Therapy interns and new Recreational Therapists.
- You will provide consultation to other hospital areas as directed by physician order, and under the supervision of the unit director.
- Valid driver’s license, in good standing.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- Bachelors Degree
- Recreation Therapist, or Advanced Activity Professional-BC (AAP-BC)
