About the job: The Health Information Specialist II performs a variety of activities in the HIM Department by analyzing medical records for deficiency and quality. Interacts with medical staff and clinical departments regarding incomplete or missing documentation. What you will do: Reviews and analyzes inpatient and outpatient medical records for completeness. Assigns deficiencies and ensures follow up where necessary. Ensures the integrity of the legal electronic record through editing and correction of documentation errors; processing of missing documentation; and monitoring various department reports. What we are Looking for: High School graduate is required. Associate Degree in Health Information Management preferred. Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator or Registered Health Information Technician preferred. Experience: One (1) to three (3) years of related experience.
