Full-Time Nursing Faculty
Ohio Institute of Allied Health is looking for a Full-Time Nursing Faculty Member! Nurses interested in teaching and evaluating nursing students in a specialty area must have obtained at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Nursing faculty facilitate learning and provide theoretical instruction in the classroom atmosphere, while adhering to the policies of the college. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
Hiring to Staff for Spring Term Beginning August 5, 2024
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise student groups in classroom/lab areas
· Orient students and demonstrate proper procedures/technique, as outlined in course syllabus
· Maintain professional standards and course expectations throughout each course or term
· Evaluate and grade student performance. Meet with students at midterm for formal evaluation and again at the end of the course to discuss progress and performance.
· Maintain the professional practice knowledge base needed to instruct learners in contemporary nursing practice
· Work effectively as part of the overall faculty team demonstrating positive interpersonal relations, collaborating with other faculty members to meet student needs, and participating in faculty meetings and nursing program committees
· Participate in ongoing program evaluation activities, as needed
· Maintain faculty expectations as required by OIAH and the Board of Nursing
· Demonstrate proper respect for students, faculty, and staff and foster a student-friendly classroom environment
· Other duties as assigned
Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:
· Completion of an approved professional nursing education program.
· Experience of at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
· A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required for didactic faculty teaching in the Practical Nursing Program.
· A minimum of a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required for didactic faculty teaching in the Registered Nursing Program.
· A current active, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state in which the program is located or multi-state privilege to practice in the state.
· Previous teaching experience preferred.
· Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
· Excellent teaching and classroom management skills.
· Functional abilities to carry out classroom, clinical, and laboratory teaching responsibilities, as assigned.
· Competence in clinical skills in areas of teaching.
· Competence in basic computer skills and software applications.
· Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screening.
· Documentation of required immunizations.
· Documentation of current CPR certification.
