JOB SUMMARY : Skilled-level Body technician who can perform collision repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized areas of repair.
This position will primarily focus on paint but also perform other body work to repair damage to vehicles as needed within the guidelines established.
Body Shop Technician will communicate with both the parts department and the customer to ensure the job is completed efficiently and accurately.
It is important to understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations such as EPA, OSHA, and DOT. COMPETENCIES : Individual should be self-motivated and detail oriented.
Must possess solid organizational and time management skills.Individual should be able to provide excellent customer service.
Possesses strong communication skills both verbal and written.JOB QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two to four year’s related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vocational / technical school preferred.
Certification of completion of technical school specializing in the repair / refinish of all series of truck and trailer preferred.
Working knowledge of tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required.
Two to five years of automotive paint experience required, specifically using Imron paint.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel;
The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
