What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Technologist - Transplant Laboratory position at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center?
Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing all clinical testing for histocompatibility. Certification (CHT/ABHI) at the Technologist level must be completed within two years of hire. Demonstrate appropriate experience and knowledge to perform, analyze and interpret laboratory test, and adhere to clinical laboratory guidelines. Must be available for scheduled 24 hour on-call responsibility. The on-call responsibility is shared among all available technologists. Technologist may be required to work second or third shift if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, knowledge of standard immunological lab techniques, or knowledge of histocompatibility and/or 2 years of lab experience required. Experience in PCR-molecular technology helpful. Demonstrable organizational skills and, ability to multi-task absolutely essential. Certification (CHT/ABHI) at the Technologist level must be completed within two years of hire.
