Ohly has a great opportunity for a Quality Technician to join our team in Boyceville Wisconsin USA.
The Quality Technician is responsible for the analytical and microbiological testing of incoming ingredients, in-process samples and finished goods.
In this exciting role you will be:
Analytical Lab Responsibilities:
- Using established test procedures, analyze and approve incoming ingredients, in-process samples, and finished goods for conformance to existing product specifications
- Implement new testing procedures and incorporate these into daily routines
- Coordinating on-line quality checks with the Production Supervisors and Production Manager
- Supporting production by investigating and providing guidance on how to react to quality concerns
- Actively pursuing cost reduction of testing and supplies
- Conducting physical inventory of hold and rework items
- Coordinating plant water testing, environmental sampling, sanitation inspections and reports results to Quality Supervisor
- Responsible for notifying the Quality Supervisor of all deviations from established specifications
- Issuing Certificates of Analysis on finished products
- Performing GMP, internal, equipment and/or environmental audits as required
Projects:
- Facilitating the maintenance and repair of all plant QC testing equipment
Safety:
- Participate in Ohly Americas safety program including but not limited to monthly safety meetings, weekly toolbox meetings, near miss and flash audits
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and the Food Safety Plan
- Responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
You should have:
- Preferred but not required - Associate Degree in Science, Chemistry or related field, four-year degree helpful
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s and GLP’s
- PC literate
- Mechanical aptitude
- Communications (written and verbal) skills
- Strong analytical, organization and time management skills required
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of fermentation, blending, spray drying, roller drying, and packaging preferred
- Experience in regulatory compliance
- BS degree in a technical field
- Mechanical trade skills
Work hours: - Generally, this position will work 10:30 pm to 7am Sunday night through Thursday night. Hours are somewhat flexible but days are set.
