Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial concepts, including double entry bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management. The Bookkeeper will support both corporate and non-profit accounting functions, contributing to the preparation of financial reports and ensuring the integrity of financial data across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft excel.
- Perform general ledger accounting and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and handle payroll functions.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and account analysis to verify financial data integrity.
- Support tax preparation activities by organizing relevant financial documents and records.
- Maintain accurate records of debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Perform 10 key typing tasks efficiently for data entry purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate, governmental, or non-profit sectors.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP and double entry bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks and excel
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including account reconciliation, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax-related activities is preferred.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing is desirable.
- Ability to handle complex account reconciliation tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
