Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time detail-oriented and analytical Foundry Cost Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing the cost structure of our foundry operations, ensuring accurate cost reporting, inventory control, and financial forecasting. You will work closely with production, operations, and finance teams to provide actionable insights that help optimize costs and improve overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Accounting:
- Develop, track, and analyze direct and indirect costs associated with foundry operations, including raw materials, labor, overhead, and machinery.
- Maintain accurate cost records and reconcile discrepancies in production cost accounts.
- Prepare and update standard cost models for production processes and inventory.
- Cost Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports, including variances from budgeted and historical figures.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose corrective actions based on analysis of cost reports.
- Collaborate with management to prepare cost estimates for new products, projects, and capital investments.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and coordinate with warehouse staff to resolve discrepancies.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts for foundry operations.
- Monitor and analyze actual performance versus budgeted costs, providing detailed variance analysis.
- Process Improvement:
- Evaluate current accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance cost control and financial accuracy.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the operations and production teams to understand cost drivers and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the accounting team in providing financial insights for management decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or foundry environment.
- Strong understanding of cost structures, cost accounting methods, and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in foundries, is highly desirable.
Salary:
$60,000 - $75,000 Annual Base (Experience and Qualification Based)
