WAGE: $17.50/hr

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of all casino facilities and coordination of projects, including building repair, painting, building remodeling and special projects. Is also responsible for upkeep and maintenance of the Ojibwa Recreation Area campgrounds and marina. The incumbent will ensure that daily work orders are completed timely, within budget and quality basis. Supervises and assists in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC repair, electrical as needed. This position is responsible for scheduling, reviewing, providing direction/guidance and making performance recommendations for casino maintenance and housekeeping staff.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma, GED, or High School Certificate of Completion is required.
2. Minimum four (4) years’ experience in carpentry, electricity, plumbing and HVAC repair is essential.
3. Minimum four (4) years’ experience supervising personnel.
4. Minimum four (4) years’ experience working with contractors.
5. Must have knowledge of hotel infrastructure systems including upkeep and maintenance of public pool systems.
6. Knowledge of computers, including ability to use computer based building control systems.
7. Must have prior experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment (i.e. Front End Loader, etc.)
8. Knowledge of and experience with using power hand tools is required.
9. Able to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, temperature control diagrams, operating and maintenance instructions, plans and manuals.

10. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
11. Excellent customer/employee relation skills are required. The individual must be able to deal with the general public and fellow employees with tact, courtesy, respect, objectivity and maturity.
12. Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license; reliable transportation and be insurable under fleet vehicle policy. **Must sign the KBIC Driving Record Check Form.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists in administering operations for maintenance and housekeeping departments, by aiding in scheduling and coordinating maintenance functions and providing leadership, guidance, motivation and training for the subordinate maintenance workers and housekeepers to maximum efficiency and performance using approved standards and best practices to ensure facilities are safe and secure.
· Helps establish and schedule short-range tasks and manpower requirements.
· Orders supplies and monitors the inventory levels of supplies in the department and keeps an accurate record of supplies used.
· Maintains complete and accurate records of routine maintenance schedules and maintenance request forms.
· Ensures the hotel infrastructure systems and pool are maintained and operating at peak efficiency at all times.
· Responds to emergency calls on weekends and evenings.
· Schedules, reviews and provides direction and guidance to maintenance staff and housekeeping.
· Critically evaluates all work activities under his/her supervision as a basis for initiating or recommending changes that will increase efficiency, improve services and/or reduce costs.
· Practices and/or oversees preventative maintenance and repair duties on all mechanical and electrical systems equipment.
· Cooperates effectively with all Casino personnel to effect prompt and coordinated solutions to problems within areas of accountability.
· In the absence or shortage of subordinate workers, performs all of their required duties.
· Must exercise good judgment in job assignments and personal capabilities with the ability to communicate these needs.
· Must be safety oriented.
· Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to all Tribal and department policies and procedures.
· Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training as required.
· Perform other duties when assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop and squat.
2. Occasionally crawl, climb to heights, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull.
3. Frequently lift and/or carry up to (50) fifty pounds.
4. Occasionally carry, and/or lift (74) seventy-four pounds without help and one hundred (100) pounds with assistance.
5. Must be able to tolerate varying levels of noise, dust and/or smoke.
6. Employee must pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
