Ojo Santa Fe Spa & Resorts is now accepting applications for a Food & Beverage Manager.
The Food & Beverage Manager manages all aspects of the food and beverage operations at Ojo Santa Fe in accordance with the goals, objectives and culture set forth by resort management. Maintains a high standard of quality with regards to guest satisfaction, F&B operations, scheduling, employee morale and satisfaction, safety, compliance, and sanitation. Responsible for the delegation and completion of work in F&B Department. Backs up F&B staff as needed. Collaborates with all other Department Managers to ensure excellent guest experiences.
- Manages F&B FOH and BOH staff at the resort in both the restaurant and banquets, including scheduling.
- Maintains a culture of service excellence, models Ojo’s core values, and coaches employees to conduct themselves according to core values.
- Strives to increase profitability, while maintaining high quality of service and effectively managing costs. Budgets and forecasts the performance of the Food & Beverage Department
- Communicates with F&B staff through daily communication, regular meetings and monthly staff meetings.
- Attends and actively participates in weekly resort management/operational meetings.
- Develops and delivers operational and training for F&B staff.
- Recruits for F&B staff and works closely with Ojo’s Human Resources team to properly implement the HR function in F&B.
- Responds to guest comments and complaints in a timely manner; ensures that the guest is accommodated and happy.
- Ensures the highest quality of food and beverage products.
- Ensures the dining outlets maintain the highest quality service and hospitality.
- Ensures the appropriate appearance of each dining outlet, both front and back of house.
- Ensures the upkeep of operating equipment, utensils and tools.
- Ensures successful execution of all F&B operating systems: checklists, pre-meal meetings, daily assignment sheets, checklists, daily accounting, purchase requisitions, inventory management, etc.
- Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations, including safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintains positive staff morale by empowering a productive and fun work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in a food and beverage management position, preferably at a resort with at least two dining outlets.
- Prior experience managing banquets and groups highly desirable.
- Culinary background; knowledgeable of all types of cuisines, wines/beers, etc. Prior chef and/or cook experience a plus.
- Experience in F&B/resort accounting, budgeting and P&L
- Very strong computer skills; prior experience using and teaching others how to use F&B software required.
- Able to effectively collaborate with department managers and supervisors to ensure all objectives and budgets are met.
- Strong collaborative, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal
- Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in an environment where the employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, and noise.
- Ability to stand for six or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- The position requires manual dexterity; sensory skills; and the ability to follow written and oral directions and procedures.
Due to the natural environment at Ojo Santa Fe Spa & Resorts, all staff must be comfortable outdoors performing physical activities, and be able to navigate uneven ground, diverse terrain, multiple stairs, and be prepared to work in unpredictable weather conditions.
