We are looking for an enthusiastic full-time employee to fill our scribe position. You would be assisting the physician with documentation of the patient's medical record. The scribe accompanies the physician into the exam room to transcribe the exam, impression and plan, results of tests, prescriptions, etc. The scribe will also do some limited testing as needed (visual field testing and OCTs), and scribes will often dilate patients as well. We are a small, but fast-growing pediatric ophthalmic office with one physician and 3 other technicians. Although a scribe certification and/or experience is preferred, we are willing to train if needed.
JCAHPO scribe certification is a bonus, but not required
Medical terminology preferred
Communications skills are a must have
Computer skills are a must have
Scribe duties may include:
Obtaining authorizations for testing
Perform testing (will train)
Calling in prescription refills
Communicate with patient about test results, medication issues, referral questions etc.
Send out chart notes
Working the tech in-box
Other duties assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 36 per week
