What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruitment Specialist position at Oklahoma State University?
Job Summary:
Implement a comprehensive recruitment outreach program, emphasizing the high school population. Support the College of Osteopathic Medicine’s enrollment management goals by contributing to communication, marketing and outreach efforts. This position will prioritize high school prospective students, high school faculty and advisors, and other internal and external populations, including parents/guardians. Assist in the development and implementation of outreach programs, including email, direct mail, and social media campaigns targeting the high school population. Plan and implement strategies to market and advertise the College. Work within the office's database to track and measure communication outreach efforts. Assist department with managing prospective student data in Slate. Provide prospective student advisements and track interactions in Slate. Provide support in carrying out special admissions and recruitment initiatives as assigned. Assist in representing the College at recruitment events, such as prospective student presentations, college fairs, and other events as needed.
Prepare and submit an annual report summarizing accomplishments of the previous year. Assume all other reasonable professional duties as assigned.
May require limited in-state and out-of-state travel.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field or equivalent experience
- At least six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in communications demonstrating writing, editing, social media, web, and/or content creation
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge:
- Excellent writing skills, flexible and ability to adapt to changes at any given moment
- Strong verbal communication and technical skills are required
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail are essential
- Must be able to work independently as well in team environment, be self-motivated, be able to set prioritize, work well under pressure, and possess excellent problem-solving skills
- Must be able to project a positive and professional attitude in person, on the telephone, and in correspondence
Preferred:
- Master of Arts or Sciences; or related field
- Experience in Higher Ed, particularly admissions and recruitment
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management or other data management systems (experience with Slate would be ideal)
