OPRA / Video Clerk – Police Records
Definition:
Under the direction of the Records Bureau Commander in the Police Department the OPRA/Video Clerk is responsible for retrieving and processing documents and video recordings for OPRA, Common Law and Discovery Requests in accordance with current laws and practices.
Essential Duties:
- Retrieve and process documents and video recordings.
- Upload videos onto DVDs/CDs, flash drives, utilizing dedicated software.
- Redact records and video recording using the appropriate software in accordance with ORPRA, Common Law, Discovery or other guidelines.
- Handle confidential information with the appropriate discretion and within policies, guidelines and training.
- Perform recordkeeping tasks, as directed by the Records Supervisor and/or Command Staff.
- Perform other clerical duties, as directed by the Records Supervisor and/or Command Staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid NJ Driver's License required
- Must be an NJ resident
- Must pass a thorough background investigation
- Working knowledge of computers and basic computer skills required, including but not limited to, Outlook and Microsoft Office
- Prior Law Enforcement/Municipal Government experience preferred.
