Old Dutch Foods, Inc. is looking for a dependable Class A CDL truck driver to safely operate a tractor/trailer for deliveries and manual unloading at Old Dutch facilities and independent distributors across the Upper Midwest (MN, WI, MI, SD, ND, IA, NE, MO). Drive a semi tracker trailer and unload the trailer at rural warehouses and/or local/rural retailers. Most warehouses load through the man door not at docks. This unload requires a manual roller system that must be set up and taken down at each site. Cases are stacked to the ceiling of the trailer, which has an inside height of 11 feet 1 inch that will hold a maximum of 1700 cases. Case weights range from 4 lbs. to 45 lbs. You will be required to lift several cases overhead repetitively to unload product with out damage. The number you will need to lift overhead will depend on your height and the case size. A normal day would consist of driving up to 11 hours per day or unloading up to 10 hours per day or any combination of both totalling up to the maximum allowed under DOT regulations. You will be exposed to outside elements during unloading.

Major Job Duties:

1. You will be required to unload a minimum of 215 cases per hour by hand in an orderly manner.
2. Check orders as you unload.
3. Adhere to all DOT regulations.
4. Drive semi-tracker trailer to deliver to small warehouses.
5. Keep paperwork accurately.
6. Operate vehicle efficiently, courteously and safely.
7. Work alone at a steady pace for the entire day.
8. Maneuver the vehicle safely around objects and in close-fitting conditions.
9. Maintain a pace in which to get the job done safely and efficiently without supervision.
10. Count, read product names and box codes.
11. Start at various times in order to achieve appointment times.
12. Maintain neatly all required paperwork.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

• 24 years of age or older
• 2.5 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
• Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Clean driving record
• Must pass pre-employment background, physical and drug test
• Must be willing to unload the trailer by hand in all weather conditions with minimal assistance
• Must be registered in the FMCSA Clearinghouse
• Ability to manually unload snack foods (lifting, stacking, and pushing cases weighing up to 24 pounds)
• Flexible schedule required, including the ability to work days, nights, and holidays
• Overnights 2-4 nights per week in hotels with expenses paid (meals, hotel) by Old Dutch Foods, Inc.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• High school diploma or equivalent with minimum of two years working experience driving tracker trailer.
• Have valid class A driver’s license.
• Minimum related vehicle accidents and citations.

Essential job functions:

1. Ability to safely get in and out of the tractor and trailer numerous times a day.
2. Start work as early as needed to deliver at desired delivery time, effectively manage your time.
3. Handle over 13000 cases per week.
4. Lift 60 lbs. and 50 lbs overhead repetitively.
5. Keep paperwork accurately, neatly and turned in on time.
6. Operate vehicle efficiently, courteously, and safely up to 14 hours per day.
7. Work alone at a steady pace for the entire day.
8. Work at or above shoulder level for 35% of the unloading.
9. Twist/turn while lifting or carrying a load.
10. Must be reliable and maintain an excellent attendance record and driving record.
11. Grab with hands 80% of the workday and reach out with hands from body 80% of the workday.
12. Continuously lift from 16 lbs. To 60 lbs. during unloading.
13. Maintain valid drivers license class A and adhere to all DOT regulations.
14. Count, solve simple math, read product names, and box codes.
15. Sleep away from home up to 3 nights a week.
16. Unload 215 cases per hour in an orderly manner.
