Job Description/General Function
The Facility Coordinator will ensure that the facility is operating as it should be daily, deal with emergency issues that arise, create plans for replacements and repairs and develop, maintain, and manage vendor contracts. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skill swill be used for onboarding, supervision, and scheduling of custodian staff.
Responsibilities
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Completes minor repairs and minor carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing maintenance work in a timely manner and schedules outside contractors (plumber, electrical, HVAC, etc.) as needed
- Maintains work logs and service requests
- Replaces facilities light bulbs, fixtures, and ballasts as needed
- Develops and updates a capital equipment repair/replacement plan in collaboration with the Branch Executive and Facility Director and suggests priorities for the annual Capital budget
- Schedules special projects including summer closure as needed
- Manage/oversee court ordered community service volunteers, tracking work completion and time served
- On call 24/7 for any/all emergent needs relative to building and/or vehicle repair/maintenance
- Schedule and/or complete maintenance and repair of Y vehicles
- Routine fire alarm system, fire sprinkler system, and fish extinguisher test and maintenance. Coordinate with contract inspectors for annual certification
- Exit signs and emergency light testing and maintenance according to schedule
- Door alarm maintenance, correct any identified problems
- Parking lot and sidewalk snow and ice removal. Assist custodial staff as needed and contract with parking lot removal in a timely manner. Ensure that ice-melt is always available
- Dryer vent cleaning
- Washer, dryer, vacuum, and floor scrubber maintenance as needed
- Maintain general organization of storage spaces and ensure an adequate stock of supplies is always available. Coordinate supply ordering with key vendors
- Create a daily/nightly cleaning schedule for custodian staff and assign specific projects
- Follows all association hiring/coaching policies and procedures
- Accurately approve assigned timecards in required timeframe
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Able to use a variety offhand tools and small power tools effectively and safely
- 2 or more years of related experience preferred, including supervisor experience
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
- Ability to relate well and communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, in all circumstances
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Have a current CPR and first aid certification or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire
Additional Expectations and Duties
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as required and complete all online trainings which include child abuse prevention training within 7 days of hire
- Upholds YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting, and risk management. Adheres to policies to boundaries with youths
- Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations in accordance with mandated reporting requirements
- Responsible for general housekeeping tasks to ensure the workspace is always clean
- Submits hours worked accurately on the electronic timecard, within timelines for supervisor approval
- Passion for high standards and beliefs in the YMCA mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility
- Flexible schedule as needed as on occasion may need to work evenings and/or weekends
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Environment
- Office environment with occasional interruptions
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- While performing the duties of this job, the employees works indoors and outdoors
- Evening and/or early morning, and/or weekend hours periodically
- Occasional travel required
