What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Forklift Operator 3rd Shift position at OMNI Systems Inc.?
GENERAL FUNCTION - Material Handlers will be responsible for unloading product deliveries, staging products based on production orders and assisting with organizing and maintaining existing inventory. Material Handlers will help to maintain warehouse stock and assist in shop floor orders, and moving finished goods and raw material pallets.
MATERIAL HANDLER SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions & procedure manuals.
*Pack product following specific set of instructions
* Check to ensure containers are damage free
* Should be able to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
* Move completed packages for loading using power industrial equipment
* Escalate safety, quality, productivity or people concerns to Team Leader
MATERIAL HANDLER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Working Environment: Shop Floor
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience and Skills Required: Basic math and reading skills required. Attention to detail needed. Must be able to maintain good attendance and flexible and willing to work overtime, as needed.
Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 to 100 pounds.
Must be able to operate a sit-down tow motor, electric pallets jack and a manual pallet jack. Manual pallet jack will require pushing and pulling during the shift.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
