OMS Urgent Care is a new independently owned Urgent Care Clinic located in East Cobb focuses on providing great and efficient patient care at affordable cost.
We are seeking for experienced, certified Medical Assistant/ X-Ray Tech with the following skill and experience to join our team to provide excellent patient experiences.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Interview patients and prepare patients for and assist with examination or treatments
- Perform triage and obtain vital signs
- Collect and document patient history and maintain confidentiality
- Operate office medical equipment
- Understand and enforce standard health care regulatory requirements
- Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties
- Document Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions
- Assure HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Administer medications and non-intravenous injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous & intradermal)
- Perform aseptic procedures
- Assist with or able to independently collect routine laboratory specimens including phlebotomy, urinalysis and oral swabs
- Able to independently shoot X-Rays
- Perform basic laboratory tests
- Ability to start an IV, placing a catheter, & splinting a plus
- Cover reception desk for check in / check out process when needed
Minimum Qualification:
- Must be certified having successfully completed an MA, LPN, EMT, RN or X-Ray Tech program from an accredited school
- Must have at least 2 year experience working in a healthcare setting (preferably urgent care or emergency room)
- Experience working reception or front desk in a medical office, urgent care or emergency room setting is preferred, but not required.
- Must be well organized and able to multi-task seeing multiple patients at once in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Must be proficient in venipuncture
- Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy and physiology
- Documentation skills and attention to detail
- Must have a working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Effective communication and interaction with employers, patients, providers and other colleagues. Ability to use tact and diplomacy appropriate to situation
- Ability to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team-oriented manner
- Must be able to be mobile and work in various positions (standing, sitting, bending, walking) for extended periods of time
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment
- Ability to participate in initial and ongoing training as required
- Conduct business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, cooperative, sensitive, respectful and kind with dealing with patients, visitors, the public and all colleagues
