SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Art Activities Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of duties that help foster creativity, skill development, and an appreciation for art among clients. In this role, the aide will encourage self-reflection in clients to work on creative interests and styles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop plans that encourage creativity and skill-building.
- Facilitates group for art and charting.
- Prepare materials and resources for lessons (e.g., paints, brushes, clay, digital tools)
- Teach clients various art techniques and styles, including drawing, painting sculpture etc.
- Demonstrate proper use of materials and tools.
- Provide constructive feedback on the client’s projects.
- Ensure client safety when using tools and materials.
- Organize on-site activities and events.
- Encourage resident participation.
- Ensure a safe and fun environment for all participants.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in activities, recreational, art, or a similar field (1 years preferred)
- CDCA within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to maintain a positive and organized learning environment.
- Maintain records of client’s attendance and progress.
- Stay up to date with new art techniques, technologies, and teaching methods.
- Flexible schedule
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
