Art Coordinator

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Art Activities Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of duties that help foster creativity, skill development, and an appreciation for art among clients. In this role, the aide will encourage self-reflection in clients to work on creative interests and styles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop plans that encourage creativity and skill-building.
• Facilitates group for art and charting.
• Prepare materials and resources for lessons (e.g., paints, brushes, clay, digital tools)
• Teach clients various art techniques and styles, including drawing, painting sculpture etc.
• Demonstrate proper use of materials and tools.
• Provide constructive feedback on the client’s projects.
• Ensure client safety when using tools and materials.
• Organize on-site activities and events.
• Encourage resident participation.
• Ensure a safe and fun environment for all participants.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED certificate required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience in activities, recreational, art, or a similar field (1 years preferred)
• CDCA within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to maintain a positive and organized learning environment.
• Maintain records of client’s attendance and progress.
• Stay up to date with new art techniques, technologies, and teaching methods.
• Flexible schedule
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

• Must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Proven ability in leading a group instruction based on skill level.

• Must possess and demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills.
• Provide encouragement and motivation to help clients overcome challenges.
• Must demonstrate the ability to relate with empathy and sensitivity to staff, clients, and the community.

• Visual acuity to see details of objects.
• Manual dexterity to grasp, move or manipulate instruments or objects.
• Utilize muscles to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
• Ability to hear sounds, recognize differences and determine source of sound.
• Physical capacity to stand, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out for varying degrees of time.
