What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreman/Project Manager position at One Day Installation and Repairs?
We are a general contractor seeking an experienced Foreman/Project Manager to lead our field team. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in construction/facilities maintenance and be able to complete tasks and/or provide guidance to our team. This position requires a candidate with a strong knowledge of carpentry/floor to ceiling/furniture reconfigurations in addition to being familiar with HVAC and air compressor maintenance, light plumbing and electrical. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role requires a leader who is energetic, knowledgeable, and capable of taking our company to its fullest potential.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, manage and train a team of carpenters to ensure projects are completed safely, on-time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Participate in the hiring process when there is a need to grow our team, and complete performance reviews as needed.
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Collaborate with other project stakeholders, including engineers, subcontractors, and clients, to ensure that project scope is completed.
- Conduct regular job walks, site visits, and safety audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and submit progress reports to management and clients on a regular basis.
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure they are complete and accurate before work begins. Work with the office team to make sure that the projects are set up correctly.
- Monitor project budgets and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that costs are managed effectively.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in construction and carpentry.
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects.
- Knowledge of carpentry union regulations and procedures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software BuilderTrend/Procore.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Overtime, Weekend Availability, holidays, travel required
- Experience with such project scopes as carpentry, floor to ceiling, office renovations, as well as knowledge of HVAC, air compressors, plumbing, electrical, painting.
